Wed x plane 11 tutorial1/9/2024 ![]() ![]() (The actual routes I generate sort of suck too.) It might be possible to ‘extract’ layouts in WED with this data, but if the extraction is messy, you’d spend more time cleaning it than you would making an ATC layout. I also looked at using line data to do auto-route generation but found that in practice the line data is too ‘noisy’ to construct into good routes inside the sim. This is version 12. But we intentionally designed the low-level apt.dat format to be flexible so that there wouldn’t be real-world scenarios that were impossible to model. some kind of tool that builds both from a simple AFCAD-like scheme. See also our main WED page, which contains more information, as well as links to download WED. Fan translations of the WED 1.6 Manual in Chinese or WED 1.6 Manual in Spanish are also available. I think that unifying lines and routes might make sense at the WED level, e.g. Manuals World Editor (WED) You can read the latest WED manual online. For example, the ATC system does not want ‘leading lines’ in turns, and it wouldn’t be clear what route they’d be labeled with. ![]() The actual taxi lines are often significantly more complex and detailed than the network the ATC system wants. This is where you reorder your runways and rename entities. (To get a sense of what a hierarchy view is like, try AC3D) In WED, the contents of your airport layout are viewed in a hierarchy view. We considered but rejected this approach for our underlying format. I just finished fixing some bugs in WED regarding the hierarchy view. ![]()
